When the potato chip product was launched in the 40´s and 50´s all chips was fried in a kettle. This batch process gave the potato chips a harder bite and a curly apperance.
Over the last few years this product range has grown in popularity and new more desing of batch fryers have been developed. Rosenqvists has a unique and patented batch fryer design to manufacture a true batch fried potato chip.
More than 40 years ago, we developed the unique method of processing low fat chips. The method using saturated heat, ensures that the final product quality remains but with a potato chips with lower fat content.
Using the patented Rosenqvists Defatter, the final oil content will be reduced by minimum ten ( 10 ) actual percent meaning a reduction from normal 33 - 35 % down to 23 - 25 % . This corresponds to a potato chip with 30 - 35 % lower fat content.
The snack market and it´s consumers want new products. To broaden the product range , a batch-style potato chip can be a new alternative product offering. The batch-style chips has a harder bite and texture and looks like a true batch fried product but is manufactured in a continuous Multi -Zone fryer.
